“[I asked him] ‘Are you following me, by any chance?’ And he was like, ‘No, no, no. You just look familiar,” said Vega. “So when I’m looking at him, we’re talking. I’m cashing my checks: My check and my wife’s check. I’ve been doing it for years. [The store clerk] gives me an envelope back, I put it in my back pocket. But [the suspect] is talking to me. He bought oil to put in the car.”

The suspect can be seen exiting the store with the oil he just bought. “Our victim sees, as the guy goes out and puts the oil in his vehicle,” said Moschella, “so he chats with the clerk a little while to let the guy leave first because he still felt suspicious of him.”
